Art Jamming Myths
Art Jamming is a relatively recent creative art form. It was designed by art educators and artists in the 1970s as a means to enhance creativity, and since then it has grown in popularity. There are still some facts and misunderstandings about an Art Jamming Workshop that we'd like to set straight today!
Myth 1: Art Jamming does not use "legitimate" art methods.
Many people think that Art Jamming is basically a form of enjoyable art, and it's true. However, there are, in fact, proper art styles and methods that can be utilized in Art Jamming!
In our Art Jamming sessions, we'll go through art theory such as the color wheel and basic brush stroke instructions. These are genuine painting procedures that participants can use to make their own Art Jamming masterpieces!
Myth 2: Team bonding is difficult in Art Jamming.
Some people believe that Art Jamming isn't a good team-building exercise since individuals would be immersed in their own work. This couldn't be further from the truth!
Participants will be able to seek advice and engage in conversations about their art with their team members during our Art Jamming sessions. We also provide individuals the option of working on a group painting or stitching together their own pieces into one huge group artwork!
In addition, a creative component is included, in which participants are able to express their artwork and get to know one another better, resulting in improved team building!
Myth 3: To participate in Art Jamming, you must be creative.
To participate in Art Jamming, you don't need to be an artist or have prior art experience. Our facilitator will go over basic art ideas and brush stroke methods at the beginning of our sessions, so all you have to do is come with an open mind and some creativity!
Myth 4: You will feel left out if you are not an artist.
That is completely incorrect! Our facilitators will make sure that all participants receive a basic understanding of art theory and are comfortable with brush stroke techniques, regardless of their skill level. Participants will be able to communicate with our facilitators if they need assistance or information! We want everyone who participates in the Art Jamming installation to feel welcome and happy about their experience!
